Choosing Your 8HP Controller
The controller, wiring, shifter, and flashing plan decide how your 8HP swap behaves. Use this page as a starting point, then send us your build details if you are unsure.
Turbolamik
Good when you want a dedicated 8HP transmission controller with advanced shift control and a proven swap-focused ecosystem.
- Popular for dedicated 8HP swaps
- Works with external engine ECUs
- Often paired with a sequential shifter
- Requires opening the valve body to install the bypass board.
MaxxECU
Good when the engine and transmission strategy are planned together, especially if you are already running MaxxECU or building a full wiring package.
- Strong choice for complete ECU planning
- Can simplify engine/transmission integration
- Requires valve body flashing
Not Sure Yet?
That is normal. The best choice depends on your engine ECU, transmission version, shifter plan, power goal, and how street-friendly you want the car to feel.
- Send us your chassis and engine
- Tell us what parts you already own
- We will guide the controller plan
What To Decide Before Ordering
- Which 8HP transmission you plan to use: Gen 1 8HP45, 8HP70, Gen2 8HP50, 8HP75, Gen3 8HP76 or another version?
- Whether your valve body needs to be flashed for your controller setup.
- Whether you want a factory-style shifter, CAN keypad, or sequential shifter.
- Whether your engine ECU can share the signals needed for clean daily driving.
- Whether you want us to build or supply the wiring harness.
For a street car, the goal is not only fast shifts. A good setup should be predictable, easy to drive, and comfortable in everyday traffic.
